Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? after 5 years as a graphic designer

Our sector has been shrinking and I am unsure if I should wait it out. Any experience at all would help. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Who has switched fields?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
