Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? after 17 years as an operations analyst

Three companies in Hartford cut staff in the same month. It has been weighing on me all week. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable.

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
