Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? after 16 years as a janitorial supervisor

Our sector has been shrinking and I am unsure if I should wait it out. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more.

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.

Talk to people in the field you are considering. Two coffee chats changed my mind about one option.
