Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? after 12 years as a dental hygienist

Three companies in Raleigh cut staff in the same month. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable. Which areas are hiring?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
