Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? - 7 months and counting

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a dental hygienist. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Who has switched fields?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Look at job postings to see which skills repeat, then fill the gap. That gave me a direction.
