Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? - 6 months and counting

Our sector has been shrinking and I am unsure if I should wait it out. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere.

Talk to people in the field you are considering. Two coffee chats changed my mind about one option.

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
