Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? - 5 months and counting

Three companies in Tulsa cut staff in the same month. I worked as a payroll clerk before this. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Who has switched fields?

Look at job postings to see which skills repeat, then fill the gap. That gave me a direction.
