Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? - 3 months and counting

Three companies in Wichita cut staff in the same month. I do not usually post, so bear with me. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Which areas are hiring?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
