Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? - 13 weeks in

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a store manager. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable.

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
