Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? - 13 months and counting

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a call-centre agent. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable. Which areas are hiring?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
