When does my employer coverage actually end? after 8 years as a teaching assistant

HR said my health plan continues for a bit and I do not understand how. I am in Baltimore, in case local advice matters. I do not want to be surprised by a bill.

Dental and vision sometimes end on a different date from medical. Mine did.
