What do I say about why I left my last job? - 8 months and counting

They always ask why I left, and I freeze. It has been a long 10 weeks. I also do not want to seem like a risk. Do they ask follow-ups?

I keep it to two sentences: the company cut my team, and here is what I am proud of and what I am looking for next.

Say it plainly and move on to what you can do. Interviewers usually move on if you do.
