What do I say about why I left my last job?

I have an interview next week and I am unsure how to explain why I left my last job as a store manager. I worked as a store manager before this. I have been practising in the mirror. Do they ask follow-ups?

If a company has been in the news for layoffs, you can mention that. Often the interviewer already knows.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
