Unemployment ran out before I found work - what worked for you?

My unemployment benefits end in 6 weeks and I have not found work as a procurement assistant. I wonder about extended programmes or help from local agencies. What did you do after benefits ran out?

I took a temp job while I kept looking. It covered rent, and the agency sent me to a permanent job within a couple of months.
