Unemployment ran out before I found work - what worked for you?

My unemployment benefits end in 17 weeks and I have not found work as an event coordinator. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I am willing to take a temporary job. Did you find short-term work?

I took a temp job while I kept looking. It covered rent, and the agency sent me to a permanent job within a couple of months.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
