Unemployment ran out before I found work

My unemployment benefits end in 25 weeks and I have not found work as an electrician's helper. I am in Portland, in case local advice matters. I wonder about extended programmes or help from local agencies. What did you do after benefits ran out?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

I took a temp job while I kept looking. It covered rent, and the agency sent me to a permanent job within a couple of months.
