Unemployment ran out before I found work after 3 years as an IT help-desk technician

My unemployment benefits end in 9 weeks and I have not found work as an IT help-desk technician. There are 3 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I wonder about extended programmes or help from local agencies. Did you find short-term work?

I took a temp job while I kept looking. It covered rent, and the agency sent me to a permanent job within a couple of months.
