The claim window is closing and I am worried about bills. Any experience at all would help. I wonder about extended programmes or help from local agencies.

Ask your state agency about any extended programmes. Mine did not advertise them, but they existed.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
