Unemployment ran out before I found work - 7 months and counting

My unemployment benefits end in 17 weeks and I have not found work as a paralegal. I wonder about extended programmes or help from local agencies. What did you do after benefits ran out?

I took a temp job while I kept looking. It covered rent, and the agency sent me to a permanent job within a couple of months.
