Unemployment ran out before I found work

My unemployment benefits end in 7 weeks and I have not found work as an IT help-desk technician. Any experience at all would help. I wonder about extended programmes or help from local agencies.

I took a temp job while I kept looking. It covered rent, and the agency sent me to a permanent job within a couple of months.
