Trimming expenses while I search - what worked for you?

I have 14 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as an insurance claims processor. I am in Toledo, in case local advice matters. I am nervous about the credit card minimums. Did any lender work with you?

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
