Trimming expenses while I search - what worked for you?

We are a household of 11 and need to cut costs quickly. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I am nervous about the credit card minimums. Did any lender work with you?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
