Trimming expenses while I search - any advice?

We are a household of 13 and need to cut costs quickly. I do not usually post, so bear with me. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What helped the most?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 14 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
