Trimming expenses while I search after 7 years as a teaching assistant

We are a household of 7 and need to cut costs quickly. I have been trying to stay organised about it. Rent and the car are the biggest costs.

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $850 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.
