Trimming expenses while I search - 10 months and counting

I have 10 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as an accountant. I am in Minneapolis, in case local advice matters. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What helped the most?

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $650 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.
