Telling my partner I lost my job - what worked for you?

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a marketing coordinator. I worked as a marketing coordinator before this. I want a plan before I speak. Did it get easier afterwards?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 14 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
