Telling my partner I lost my job (update)

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a data-entry clerk. I am in Little Rock, in case local advice matters. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. What did you say?

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
