Telling my partner I lost my job (update)

I was laid off 17 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. I want a plan before I speak. Did it get easier afterwards?

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
