Telling my partner I lost my job (update)

I was laid off 19 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. I am in Columbus, in case local advice matters. Bills are coming up and I cannot keep this quiet. What did you say?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
