Telling my partner I lost my job (update)

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a medical assistant. I am in Boise, in case local advice matters. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. How did you handle it?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
