Telling my partner I lost my job (update)

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a data-entry clerk. I worked as a data-entry clerk before this. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. How did you handle it?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 9 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
