Telling my partner I lost my job, software tester here

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a software tester. I worked as a software tester before this. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. Did it get easier afterwards?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.
