Telling my partner I lost my job, software tester here

I was laid off 13 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

I told my partner the same evening with a simple plan: what happened, what I was doing and what I needed. It was a relief.
