Telling my partner I lost my job, project coordinator here

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a project coordinator. I worked as a project coordinator before this. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. How did you handle it?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
