Telling my partner I lost my job (Pittsburgh)

I was laid off 17 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. It has been a long 17 weeks. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. What did you say?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 6 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
