Telling my partner I lost my job - first time posting

I was laid off 13 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I want a plan before I speak. How did you handle it?

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.
