Telling my partner I lost my job - first time posting

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a recruiter. It has been weighing on me all week. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. How did you handle it?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
