Telling my partner I lost my job - first time posting

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as an administrative assistant. Any experience at all would help. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. Did it get easier afterwards?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 13 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
