Telling my partner I lost my job

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a delivery driver. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. How did you handle it?

I told my partner the same evening with a simple plan: what happened, what I was doing and what I needed. It was a relief.

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
