Telling my partner I lost my job (Birmingham)

I was laid off 2 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. There are 12 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 9 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
