Telling my partner I lost my job - any advice?

I have been leaving the house at the same time each day so my kids do not notice. It has been weighing on me all week. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. What did you say?

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.
