Telling my partner I lost my job after 7 years as an IT help-desk technician

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as an IT help-desk technician. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. Did it get easier afterwards?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.
