Telling my partner I lost my job after 6 years as a production planner

I was laid off 10 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. It has been a long 10 weeks. I want a plan before I speak. How did you handle it?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
