Telling my partner I lost my job after 15 years as a project coordinator

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a project coordinator. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. What did you say?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
