Telling my partner I lost my job after 15 years as a dental hygienist

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a dental hygienist. I worked as a dental hygienist before this. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. How did you handle it?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
