Telling my partner I lost my job - 9 weeks in

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as an office manager. Any experience at all would help. Bills are coming up and I cannot keep this quiet. How did you handle it?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.
