Telling my partner I lost my job - 6 months and counting

I was laid off 4 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

I told my partner the same evening with a simple plan: what happened, what I was doing and what I needed. It was a relief.
