Telling my partner I lost my job - 4 months and counting

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a mechanic. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. Did it get easier afterwards?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
