Telling my partner I lost my job

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a barista. I worked as a barista before this. I want a plan before I speak. How did you handle it?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

I told my partner the same evening with a simple plan: what happened, what I was doing and what I needed. It was a relief.
