Telling my partner I lost my job - 22 weeks in

I was laid off 22 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. I am in Jacksonville, in case local advice matters. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

I told my partner the same evening with a simple plan: what happened, what I was doing and what I needed. It was a relief.
